Creating a Staff MemberM
- Open a new staff member record
If you have the Shifts and StaffM module, new staff members can be added as such.
- Go to the
Shifts and Staff tab in the function bar.
- Click on the expand triangle next to
Staff Members and select
New and, if applicable, your company.
- A new staff member record will open.
- Go to the
- Enter the name of the staff member
In all views of the Staff Planning module (Shift planner, staff lists), the name will appear as entered here, not as given in the linked account.
- Enter a name in the Name field.
Note: Set an operational standard for item names to facilitate searches and evaluations.
Example.: Burke, Charles oder Charles Burke - Click on
Find duplicates to see a list of all similar names and avoid potential duplicates.
- If the name already exists, accept that item and confirm with Change.
- If the name is not on the list, close the results window by clicking on
in the top right-hand corner of the window and go on to create a new account.
- Enter an alternative name for this staff member in the Label field, which will appear in the Staff Planner for the data source "All shifts".
- Enter a name in the Name field.
- Assign groups and properties
There are various filter options in the Shift Planner to find qualified staff. The necessary information for each individual staff member is entered on the General tab and the Properties tab of the staff member item.
- Enable Shifts for the new staff member if you want to see them in the Shift Planner.
- Select a Group and Subgroup from the drop-down menu. The staff groups allow the targeted assignment of staff members to open shifts.
- Group even more precisely by Department, Position, Performance or Core team.
- For further optional groupings of items, use the expandable picklists in the Type and Code fields. Both are used to structure data and facilitate searches by adding information.

- Assign an account
Each staff item must be linked to an account. For permanent staff, that would be their private account. For temporary staff, assigning a recruitment agency or personnel service provider is also acceptable.
- Enter a name in the
Account field and press Enter.
- A list of available accounts and contacts will open.
- Double-click an account or create a new account (Creating a new account).

- Assigning staff roles
When you use the Shift Planner, staff are filtered by roles so that only qualified people even appear for selection. Roles, positions and departments are assigned independently of each other.
- Go to the bottom part of the input window and click on
Roles auf
Add in the toolbar.
- A picklist of available roles will open.
- Double-click or left-click and
Confirm to select the roles you want.
- Note: Select one or more staff roles by left-clicking and holding down the Ctrl key.
