Creating tickets for public eventsM
- Create different types of tickets
Both the tickets and the ticketed event must be created as sales items. Bookings can be made either through Ticket Reservations or in the reservation lists of the events themselves. All items related to the event need to have the correct item group, otherwise the tickets will not be available for booking in the right place.
- First create a separate item for each type of ticket.
Ex: „Christmas Pantomime Child“, „Christmas Pantomime Concessions“, „Christmas Pantomime Regular“ „Christmas Pantomime Special“ - Select the item group Ticketing > Tickets and enter a price and a price group.
Note: The item group name is editable and can differ from business to business. Specify the name on the Administration tab under Settings > Events > Reservations. - Like other items, tickets can be marked as intended specifically for Children or Senior citizens. This can come in useful for identifying the number of children's seats when making table reservations or for filtering item lists.
- Save your input by clicking on the icon in the top left-hand corner of the input window.
- First create a separate item for each type of ticket.
- Create a combo item for all types of tickets
Create one combo item to gather all types of tickets offered for an event together.
- Open a new item.
Ex: Christmas Pantomime Tickets - Assign the Ticketing > Tickets item group again, but DO NOT input any prices.
- Assign the various ticket types you have already created as Components .
Example: "Christmas Pantomime Tickets" contains "Christmas Pantomime Child", "Christmas Pantomime Concessions", "Christmas Pantomime Regular" "Christmas Pantomime Special" - Save your input by clicking on the icon in the top left-hand corner of the input window.
- Open a new item.
- Create a "Ticketed event" item
The ticketed event itself must also be created as a sales item. This is the item which is available for selection in reservation lists and ticketed events. It can be linked to a room and contains the ticket details.
- Create an item with the item group Ticketing > Ticketed EV .
Ex: Christmas Pantomime
Note: The item group name is editable and can differ from business to business. Specify the name on the Administration tab under Settings > Events > Reservations. - A new tab Tickets will appear in the side navigation.
- Assign a Room if applicable.
Open the picklist with Tab+Space or type the first letters of the room you want, then press Enter to see the room list. - Assign the combo item containing the various ticket types in the Available tickets field.
Open the selection list with Tab+Space or type the first letters of the ticket you want, then press Enter to see the item list. - Tick the box to allow for creating and printing physical or digital Tickets.
- Create an item with the item group Ticketing > Ticketed EV .
