Adding fields to user interfaces

Users with administrative rights can create additional fields for Items with the Calculation, Item details and RecipesM module. Adding fields to Accounts requires the CRM plusM module. Lists can be used to define read and authorisation rules as well as visibility rules in the data record.

  • Create an added field
    1. Go to the Einrichtung Configurations tab and select Tabellendetailsexpand Added fields and a table (Example: artikel Items, VA Events, Adresse Accounts etc.).
    2. The input window for the added fields will open. Depending on the operational requirements, some added fields may already have been created.
    3. To create a new added field, place your cursor in the list above where the new field is to be inserted. Click on neu Add. An empty line will be inserted.
  • Define the general settings for the added field
    1. Enter a unique name for the new field in the Field label column. This is the label which will appears in the interface.
    2. Specify where the added field should appear in the data record in the Area column.
      a) Select "General" if the added field is meant to appear on the "General" tab of the record
      b) Leave the column empty if the added field is meant to appear on the details Added Fields tab of the record.
      Note: Depending on which table is concerned, there are further areas available, e.g. seating style for rooms, components for items, event schedule and final report for events, etc.
    3. Specify a Group of added fields if this field is to be grouped together with others under a header and within a frame.
    4. The value assigned in the Field name column is the designation which will appear for this field in lists/reports.
      Note: The field label is automatically copied but can be changed manually. The field name must be unique; names cannot be identical.
    5. of the field.
    6. Specify whether the added field is to be Input-enabled for users.
    7. Tick the box for Mandatory field if you want to ensure the field must be entered before saving the record.
    8. Tick the box for Search field if you want to make this field available in the record search options.
    9. Enter a Tooltip for the added field in the bottom left-hand corner of the input window. This will appear on mousehover.
    10. save Save your input by clicking on the icon in the top left-hand corner of the input window.
      Note: The added field will usually appear after a client restart. In some cases, closing an re-opening the record by be enough.
  • Specify the data type

    The input options of the added field are based on its data type.

    Data type Description
    Picture This data type allows the insertion of a number of images in any data records.
    File directory This data type allows for a link to files on your computer or in the network.

    Date The added field provides a date field for entry in the data record. The date format can be determined via Format .
    Email Data type for entering email addresses, which will be suggested as filing location.
    Formula Select an existing Ausgabe Liste Formula or create a new formula. A added field of the Formula data type is not input-enabled in the interface. It shows the result of the formula based on other data.
    Integer Input of number formats without decimal places. If you define a Value range with From and To values, the user cannot save any values outside the range.
    Placeholder A placeholder is only used for structuring and better readability in the record.
    Text The added field is a text field which can be either input-enabled or prefilled.
    Phone number Data type for entering telephone numbers, which can be called directly via a Tapi interface.
    Time of day Data type for entering times. The time format can be preset using a Format .
    Link A added field can output information from linked data records. Manual text input is not possible.
    Example: Link information from the guest account (e.g. main contact person mobile number) to the event.
    Boolean value The tick boxes are referred to as truth values with two options: True or False.
    Note: When naming truth values, make sure that they are labelled clearly and unambiguously.
    Example: Flower decoration ordered
    Number Input of number formats. If you define a Value range with From and To values, the user cannot save any values outside that range.
    String
    1. Set the maximum Number of characters (30 characters by default) at the bottom of the input window.
    2. Write the available options one below the other in the list of Suggestions .
      Note: If you do not want to pre-fill the field with the first option, leave the first line blank.
    3. If you tick the box for Only picklist values, the user cannot enter any texts manually in the interface.
