The Bp Event web server does not support PHP execution. Therefore, the mailer file used for sending emails must be hosted on an external PHP-enabled web server.
In particular, the following are required:
- external web server running PHP 7.3 or higher,
- PHPMailer library
- SMTP access or a Sendmail service set up on the web server,
- Option to set up the necessary server-side environment variables,
- encrypted HTTPS connection,
- appropriate logging of PHP and dispatch errors,
- An email inbox set up in Bp Event.
